Set the method boundary
Choose an EPA RBP working profile, the EPA NRSA 500-organism profile, or a local method with its own target, gear, effort, and notes.
Offline stream field notebook for iPhone and iPad
Tally benthic macroinvertebrates, document sampling context, inspect separate biological metrics, catch incomplete records, and export an auditable field package.
Built for repeatable field records
Benthoscore keeps every survey separate, preserves its method context, and surfaces missing or implausible entries before the record leaves the device.
Choose an EPA RBP working profile, the EPA NRSA 500-organism profile, or a local method with its own target, gear, effort, and notes.
Add from 24 offline family-level profiles, adjust counts with stable controls, and watch fixed-count progress update immediately.
Inspect EPT, tolerance-weighted mean, Shannon diversity, dominance, clinger richness, feeding groups, habitat, and water context without a universal grade.
Create a multi-page PDF, analysis-ready CSV, and structured JSON record with method boundaries, quality-control findings, and source links.
Protocol-aware by design
State and project methods differ in target count, taxonomy, sampling design, tolerance values, and thresholds. Benthoscore records the selected working profile and keeps interpretation limits visible in the app and exports.
Responsible interpretation
Benthoscore organizes observations and computes transparent descriptive metrics. It does not replace taxonomic training, calibrated instruments, laboratory QA/QC, a state scoring method, or the responsible agency’s current protocol.
Private by default
Surveys, notes, measurements, and tallies are stored in the app container. A file leaves only when you create an export and choose a destination with Apple’s share sheet.
